White Karate Sparring Gear Checklist

At White Karate, sparring begins at Gold Belt and is a required component for promotion beyond Gold Belt. Because this is an additional expense, we strive to provide safe, affordable equipment options for our students.

White Karate offers a complete sparring package for $229 plus applicable sales tax. Pricing is subject to change based on manufacturer increases. The package includes all required protective equipment except a groin protector. Male students must provide their own groin protector.

Equipment Standards & Approval Policy

All sparring equipment must:

• Meet White Karate safety and uniform standards

• Be in good condition (no taping, cracks, or excessive wear)

• Be modern sport karate equipment from a recognized brand (e.g., Century, ProForce, or equivalent)

• Be approved by an instructor prior to use in class

Sparring equipment may not be used in class unless it has been approved in advance.

Families who choose to purchase equipment outside of White Karate must submit it for approval before bringing it to class.

As students advance, upgraded equipment may be permitted with instructor approval.

Required Sparring Equipment

The following gear is required for participation in sparring:

• Mouthguard

• Dipped foam point-fighting gloves

• Dipped foam boots

• Dipped foam shin guards

• Cloth foam elbow pads

• Dipped foam headgear

• Clear plastic face shield

• Chest protector (required for youth students)

• Groin protector (males only)

Any alternatives must be approved by White Karate prior to purchase.
